Doug graduated from Creighton University Law School in 1973. His undergraduate education
was from Lawrence University and Dana College. Upon graduation from law school and
through July of 1982, Doug practiced with a Council Bluffs, Iowa law firm. In July
of 1982, Doug became Vice President and General Counsel of a general contractor
with operations in Nebraska, Iowa and Colorado. In 1985, Doug resumed the private
practice of law and now concentrates his practice in construction, real estate and
commercial law, representing bonding and insurance companies, architectural and
engineering firms, contractors and subcontractors, developers, business owners and
financial institutions. He is admitted to practice in both Nebraska and Iowa and
is a member of both the Iowa and Nebraska Bar Associations. He has lectured on numerous
occasions in the areas of construction and lien law.
